What is linear-on-the-fly testing

Linear-on-the-fly Testing (LOFT) is an automated test creation model that uses technology to assemble tests to give each candidate a unique test. Technology selects questions from a large pool of questions using very specific criteria to assemble an exam that is a valid and reliable assessment of aptitude.

How will a candidate compare his/her performance with other candidates who took a different exam What if his exam is more difficult than any other candidates

PEBC performs critical analysis of each individual question to ensure whether the question is valid, reliable and suitable for use as scored questions in the exam. Based on these analyzes and using best practices in the field of psychometrics, PEBC's measurement consultants provide a value related to the difficulty of the questions so that the overall test can target a specific difficulty level set by the PEBC. It is expected that there will be slight variation in the difficulty level of each test, not different from the changes observed by PEBC in difficulty levels between one administration of the qualifying examination and examinations on the next. As PEBC's passing scores are mapped to a performance benchmark, exams that are slightly more difficult require a lower score to pass, while an easier test requires a slightly higher score to pass. is required.
